West Coast Rangers and Kiwi Kick Stars Announce Partnership to Promote Juniors & Youth football Development in West Auckland

West Coast Rangers, a premier football club and Kiwi Kick Stars, a leading youth football organisation based in Waitakere City, have announced a new partnership aimed at promoting youth football development in the region.

The partnership will focus on creating a path for children to fall in love with sport and football. This pathway begins with the FUNtasy football programme delivered by Kiwi Kick Stars in the school environment and continues on with football specific training and game time provided by West Coast Rangers.

The two organisations will also collaborate on development initiatives, with the goal of providing opportunities to West Auckland tamariki to get involved in football and make it accessible to all.

"We are excited to partner with Kiwi Kick Stars and work together to grow participation in the sport in West Auckland," said West Coast Rangers President, Mike Brooke. "We believe that by working together, we can open up opportunities for children throughout the community and help develop the skills and talents of young players.”

Kiwi Kick Stars Director Mauricio Rojas added, "We are thrilled to join forces with West Coast Rangers and provide a pathway for our participants to play the sport competitively. This partnership is a major step forward in our mission to promote junior & youth football development in West Auckland.

“Kiwi Kick Stars was set up with a mission to demonstrate the benefits of physical activity to children, building self esteem and resilience. We’ve seen the positive impact our programmes have on youth and kids in the community, especially those who may not have the means or access to positive programmes and structures that support their physical and mental wellbeing.”

The partnership will focus on delivering two key programmes within West Auckland schools:

Go Girls - a programme delivered in schools providing an environment where girls can experience physical activity and football in a fun, girls-only space.

FUNtasy Football after school, lunch and curriculum programme – an immersive football programme using storytelling and game based activities to introduce and engage tamariki to physical activity and football.

The partnership between West Coast Rangers and Kiwi Kick Stars is set to begin immediately, with plans already underway for joint school clinics and training sessions in the coming months.
