About Us
#GuardiansOfTheWest
The West and North West of Auckland is our home, and we are proud of it.
We are a new football club born out of the long and proud histories of Waitakere City F.C. and Norwest United F.C. Based in Kumeu-Huapai and Massey, we have come together to create a bigger, stronger, more sustainable club that has the funding and resources needed to provide opportunities for our players at all levels.
Our full-time professional coaches and a structured football program supported by a clear philosophy, vision and values combine to provide a player pathway from First Kicks to Junior, Youth and into the Senior environment with the aim of producing home-grown talent for our competitive Women's and Men's sides.
We take Men's and Women's football equally seriously, and aspire to have teams produce players who are capable of competing at the highest level of football available for their age group - regionally, nationally and internationally.
What we stand for
Part of creating our new club was building a new, joint identity. Taking cues from our past, and acknowledging our future, we have created a new name and brand that reflects what we are today and where we want to go in the future.
The West Coast reflects our position to the West of Auckland, drawing players and inspiration from the ruggest coastline from Manukau heads to Muriwai and beyond.
Rangers are guides, helpers, and also adventurers and renegades. They are independent and free spirited, but dedicated and loyal.
The Kaokao (chevrons) illustrate our area, our heritage and our direction. They reflect the guardianship of our beautiful game and the power of our community.
The Takapu (Gannet) is symbolic of Aucklands West Coast, mighty, tenacious and resilent. An icon for protection of the West Coast and our home.
The fresh new colour palette of Blue, Grey, Orange and Black reflects our past, our landscape and the Whenua we are all uniquely involved in.
We are the #WestCoastRangers and we are #StrongerTogether.
