September Season Update

21 Sep

End of the winter season

Unfortunately, our season has been cancelled by Northern Region Football, the only decision they could take given the circumstances. This is obviously not the way we had hoped our inaugural West Coast Rangers year would have finished, however we have much to celebrate in what has been an incredible year on so many levels.

The number of members that have embraced our new identity is incredible, there isn't a day that goes by where we don't see a club member proudly wearing their West Coast Rangers merchandise in the community. It's this pride that makes us super excited for what the future will bring!

Rest of the Year

We’re just as upset as you are that the winter competition season is officially over but football doesn’t stop and we’re committed to providing football in some capacity for everybody once we are allowed back on the grass.

Our plan is to continue training for all members of our Whole of Football, Junior and Youth teams for a further four weeks as soon as we are able. We are also ready to go with our Summer season. Our Senior summer football on Monday nights has already reached capacity which is incredible. We are also exploring summer football options for Whole of Football players and a competitive Senior football on a Friday evening.

If appropriate and safe we are committed to running our school holiday programs which we know are very well supported by our community.  We’re also planning to run summer holiday programs in December and January so keep your eyes out for these details as well.

We are currently planning all the Whole of Football, Junior, Youth and Senior Prizegiving’s and will confirm these as soon as we have confirmation on Covid Levels. This will give us all a chance to really celebrate a tremendous year of football at the club.
There is a lot of uncertainty at the moment however we will provide updates on a number of exciting events and programs once we move down the levels. For now, stay safe and know that soon we will see you all back on the grass enjoying the beautiful game.

Please keep an eye on westcoastrangers.co.nz and our social media channels for more updates as we confirm what is going to be possible.

Come & join our community at West Coast Rangers. We are #GuardiansoftheWest
