Pre-Season club update
Leading the Women's programme this year will be Andy Dunn and Harriet Steele. Our Director of Football, Andy Dunn, will be the head coach for the 2021 season having been with the Womens 1st team since 2019. We are thrilled to have Harriet come on board this season with her background working with the New Zealand Football Ferns, having attended FIFA World Cups and the Olympic Games.
Harriet has also recently been named as part of the New Zealand Football Female Coach Mentorship Program. Having a coach of Harriet's expertise will be perfect not only for our top level players at the club but also for our young aspiring youth players as they develop and progress into the Senior team environment.
Men's pre-season is well under way with training sessions averaging over 40 players pushing for places in the first team and under 23's. This year there is a big focus on connecting all three teams, with the U-23 and U-17's being a big part of the development pathway as players aspire to transition into senior football and the 1st team.
The coaching staff across all three teams is very strong with Mike Anderson (1st Team Coach), Alex Richardson (Video Analyst), Angel Balanga (17th Grade Head Coach) and Albert Riera (U-23's Head Coach) all providing extensive playing and coaching knowledge in what is a very exciting first year at West Coast Rangers. We can't wait for the season to start, and to be able to compete in the inaugural year of the New Zealand Football National League Season.
Junior and Youth Talent Identification Trials
Thank you to all players that have attended training ID and trials over the last few weeks. We have been thrilled with the amount of players that have attended these sessions. All players that have been attending will be contacted to be notified of your placement into teams. If you have not heard from us, please contact us.
We are so delighted with the coaching staff we have on offer over all of our Junior and Youth Academy teams. Our coaches will be following our West Coast Rangers curriculum and will be looking to implement our playing philosophy to provide them with the best possible environment and they continue along the clubs development pathway.

As we approach the beginning of the season any senior players who wish to join a team and play social football please register with us so that we have your details and can ensure you are in the correct team from a previous season, or look to add you to a team.
