No, the only change will be for the players that are engaged in the development pathways or our more highly coached teams.
In 2020 our Junior and Youth players had the opportunity to commit to playing for teams with higher levels of training, (both paid coaches and training 1, 2 or 3 times per week), and accordingly paid a coaching fee to cover the costs. We already run academy / open training and holiday programmes – all are based on paying the costs.
With an amalgamation we will simplify our systems, but there will be a registration fee and a coaching fee which would reflect the costs associated with the training provided. For the majority of our community teams this would be at no charge. Conversely the volunteer coaches will be better supported which would allow them to do more for their teams.
