Players who reach age 13 move into youth level football and become eligible for the West Coast Rangers Development Squad.
The Development Squad is designed to prepare players for competitive youth football and ultimately developing players for the key Under 17 and Under 23 age grade sides which are the primary 'feeder' grades for senior football in New Zealand.
Led by our Director of Football Andy Dunn and his team, with input from senior 'first team' mens and womens players and the coaching stuff of our top competitiive teams, the development squad aims to develop competitive skills and produce players ready for competitive football at 13, 14, 15 and 16 grades (including 'Under 17' level).
West Coast Rangers is supper excited to announce Angel Berlanga as Head Coach for our Mens U17 and Assistant coach for our U23 and Lotto NRFL Premier teams for the 2021 season.
Angel brings to the club his extensive high level international playing experience having captained winning teams to National league and multiple OFC championship titles. Angel also helped Auckland City FC to Bronze (3rd) place in the Club World Cup in Morocco at the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup, a first for any team from Oceania or Australia.
His experience and knowledge is undeniably a massive asset for all of the Rangers’ youth and the club in general.
